Why do I think we are great?

1. Great Service: We have been in the business world long enough to know that our customers or clients are Number 1. So, because of that, we try to please you, the customer, in all things. Solid customer service, triple fragrance, customized orders, you name it. Sometimes we are not perfect, in fact a lot, but we still strive to be there. We AIM to please.

2. If your not happy, we will fix it. At least, we give it our best shot.

3. Yes, we are not the big giant companies, but we are here for you, our customer. We know how hard it is out there. We want to make your life easier, we want you to enjoy our world the way we do. We feel strongly that our fragrances bring peace, quiet, and relaxation to our life. And we want to share. Life is sooo nice to go home to a sandalwood melt that has be floating through the air in my domain, waiting for me to go home. Just the peace and quite of my home in the high desert with a lust foliage of a Portland look and my wood like fragrance to greet me. And, I don't even live in Portland.

Candles and Such

Ah, life in candle world! It only gets better and better. Things seems to be progressing well. We are well into our wedding series. Of course it is not complete.

I am hoping to revise our gel market a little. I want to offer specific candles. The thing I like about gels are: not only are they pretty and unique, I have found them to burn slower with a higher scent throw. They make great gifts because of their uniqueness. I know people who never burn them because of their beauty.

The same is true with our specialty candles. They are triple scented, but because of the design of the candles, people don't want to burn them. I am talking of the animals, angels, and such. But again, I probably wouldn't burn them either. They make super gifts in baskets or alone. Kids love them.

But, the foundation of our company are the container candles. Whether wax or soy, they have a nice creamy texture, highly scented,and the label can be removed. Our 10 oz. candles are ideal for warming plates. And, we have a wide selection of scents with 140+.

As far as our melts, votives, and tea lites, there are no better. Why? They have the max amount of fragrance that can be put in the medium.

We are like any progressive company, we are forever trying to improve so we can better serve you, our customer.

We Are On Our Way

We are up and runnin' on our Wedding Collection's.

We have the Rose Collection started. We will be adding some rose pillars, rose balls, rose melts, and some other fun stuff.

We are working on the Heart Collection, as well. We have several sizes of pillars of hearts. We are still searching for just the right floaters. And of course, we are trying to decide if we are going with the traditional unity candle or not. We'll see!

The fun part for you will be to pick your own color, fragrance, and your own style of candles.

Our Rose Collection

Good News

Well, it looks like we will have our first series in our Wedding Collection up and running by May 1. Of course, we will be adding more to that series.

As I stated before, this series is the Rose Collection. While we continue to add to this series, we will be putting our Heart Collection on the site before the end of May. At least, I hope!

When you have time, check this out. You don't have to have a wedding to purchase, we will have them open stock. Any of them would be good for mother's day, Valentine's day, birthdays,secretary day, teacher's gift, or just thrown in a gift basket for any occasion.

I SEE A NEED - I WANT TO HELP FILL IT

While looking at the visitor statistics on my web site this morning I see a need to ask for your help. I found this morning that 10 percent of my traffic to Oregon Street Candle Co since midnight Saturday to 10:00 AM this morning only 34 hours, was Arabic.

That being the case I would like to ask anyone who is Arabic or of any other ethnic group that reads this or visits Oregon Street Candle Co to send an email or comment on the blog on what we can produce especially for people from your part of the world or religion. Update on Wedding Collection

We are nearing our deadline of May 1st to have part of our Wedding Series on the site, but as all things we are up against the wire.

I'm sure we will have most of the Rose Collection up and running.

I'm thinking we will probably offer individual pieces open stock. This means you will be able to buy one of, or parts of the collection. I hope to offer the choice of color as well as fragrance on the open stock.

Of course, if you are interested in the Rose Collection for your wedding. It is not necessary to purchase the whole collection, just whatever you choose.

Making Money

For extra money, years ago, I sold Tupperware. I had a day time job, was single, needed extra money. So at night, I sold Tupperware. It worked for me because I could pick my hours and the times I wanted to work.

I found, from my experience, I liked working for myself. For many, many reasons, I could call my own shots, work with who I wanted to, and many more. I worked for myself since 1980.

Because of this, I feel the opportunity we are offering to people is well worth it. We are offering to sell our candles to individuals at wholesale prices for resale at retail only. Wedding Collection

We have four series in the works for our wedding collection. The first series will be our Rose series. We are working hard at putting that together and having it up by May 1st. Even at that it will not be finished.

Our next series is the Heart series.

The next will be the Angel collection. It will be a while before it is finished.

Last, but not least is the Original collection. This is an assortment of beautiful, elegant candles.

Each series will have a varieties of tealites, pillars, tapers, floaters, votives, and design pillars.

2008 April special

What makes our melts so awesome are they are triple scented. I'm told by our customers at the store our melts outlast any they have bought. Another thing, we have over 144 scents to chose from. What more could one ask for?

We hand pour and pour to order. This is nice because we can customize color and scent with any jar candle, pillar, tea lite, votives, ect.

UpDate on Relationships

I attended the funeral of my friend this morning. He had a lot of friends there as I knew he would. He was the kind of guy that everyone liked, always had a big smile on his face and a good word to say.
He was an excellent pilot and instructor, about half the people there raised their hand when asked how many had had him for a flight instructor. Several told stories both funny and serious.
I did not speak up but I remember one time when he was in the pattern at BOI going downwind and decided to do a roll, the tower asked him if he had it out of his system now. That was many years ago and I doubt if he could have got away with it now what with the increase in traffic at BOI.
Anyway the one thing I really wanted to hear was how he had known Jesus, I did not get my wish. Could I have helped that to happen? I don't know, I do know he knew of some of my work in ministry in years past. I know that I will be more diligent from now on to be a witness of my Lord.
The Word of God says Today is The Day of Salvation!
If you died tonight like my friend did do you know where you would spend eternity? Have you made your reservation in Heaven? If not won't you please do so, find a Christian friend or a pastor to talk to or just call on the name of Jesus. The bible says' Whoever calls on the name of Jesus will be saved.'

Relationships

This blog is about Relationships. Relationships that we have on a daily basis, with those we run into maybe only once in a lifetime or maybe often. Maybe like my friend here who I had business dealings and shared the love of flying with.
It comes home to me this morning when I see in the paper the obituary for a man I have known for many years. A man that I flew with many times when I was a student pilot, whom I rented airplanes from, who I have had other business dealings with over the years and that I considered a friend.
It really comes home today partly because it is Good Friday, the beginning of the three days that end on Sunday with the celebration of the resurrection of Christ from the grave.
The obit says nothing about religion, no mention of a pastor to preach the funeral. Tomorrow I will go to the funeral with hope of good news, the news that he knew Jesus as his Savior but I don’t know, I never talked to him about my Lord after I gave my life to Jesus.
Do you know my Lord? Have you given your life to Him? You see, I have to ask because I have been called by the Creator of this universe to tell you about my Lord.

Treasure Valley Candle Business

Just a note about a press release I put out today on http://www.americantowns.com/. American Towns is a free site that has news from towns all over. Mike Corso of www.coolsiteoftheday.com told me about it this morning. It is kind of neat because they will also submit it to the local newspapers, no guarantee though if the papers will print it. I will let you know about that if I find out anything.

Wedding Collection

I'm really excited about our new wedding collection that is in the works. Our collection will not only be available to wedding planners, but to anyone planning a wedding.

Our clients will be able to customize the candles they select in any color and fragrance. This is really exciting as it is hard sometimes to get just the right color.

People will also be able to choose from plain pillars, chunck candles, floral floaters, floral tea lites, angels, hearts, cakes, bells, tapers to wedding shoes. We will be adding to our collection regularly.

I'm just letting people know our plans as we do not have our collections available yet. We are hoping to have it up and running by May 1st. It won't be complete, but is it ever?

NEWS FROM OREGON STREET CANDLE

We have added several fragrances since the last post and have removed some products. The vegetable wax is gone, the different kinds of lids are gone. Not so many choices to make but now have over 140 (144 this date) fragrances.
Additions include the popular Yankee Candle TULIPS, which they have retired. We also have Hearts & Flowers which a customer in Omaha sent a testimonial about, here is her comment.

A Message From Eddy

There is nothing better than going home after a long day at work and walk into the quiet ambiance of the warm majestic or romantic aroma of a candle that has been on a warming plate.

What a relaxing greeting!

Then after dinner, reading a book, the fireplace lit, candles and votive fragrances fill the air with the sweet smell of “Warm Embrace”.

Melts are in the kitchen, putting the clean fragrance of “Lemon Drop” in the air.

“Love Spell” greets me in the bedroom, but before bed, a nice relaxing bath with “Endless Love” surrounding me.

In the morning, it is back to work. Before I leave, I put “Cedar” on the warming plate and close the door.

Now, for a little information about candles. We have three mediums: wax, soy, and gel.

Wax is paraffin based, our soy is 100% soy, and gel is petroleum based.

Wax is more fragrant than soy and vegetable because we can put more scent in wax than the other two mediums:
1 1/2 oz. fragrance to l lb. of wax
1 oz. fragrance to l lb. of soy or vegetable

So, therefore, when using a warming plate, I prefer wax. If I am lighting traditionally, in a larger room, I use wax.

In a smaller room, I use soy.

Now, as far as smoke free, soy is cleaner, but because we use smoke-free wicks in our wax. If you keep the wicks clipped there is never a problem with smoke.

Not only are you to clip the wicks each time you light, you should also rotate the candle each time, so it burns evenly. That is with any candle.

When burning, make sure you let all candles liquid all across the top before extinguishing. If not, candles will pool.

This brings us to gel candles. They are often underrated. First of all, they are the slowest burning, then wax, then soy—in that order.

Gel candles have the least amount of fragrance in them, but because they are petroleum based, gel has the best scent throw cold or hot, except for wax.

They make great gifts because of the awesome scenes that are created in them.

Our votives have a 6+-hour burn depending on your drafts.

Our melts look like little ice cubes. Both the melts and votive have about 2oz. fragrance to 1 oz. of wax.

Our labels are removable. I wanted that, as I hate displaying labeled candles.

Because our candles are hand-poured, it takes a couple of weeks for us to get orders out.

At any rate, all I can say is we know what we want in a candle because we’re a bunch of women.

About Us at Oregon Street Candle Co.

We are a family owned business. I own B & L Marketing and am the exclusive distributor for Oregon Street Candle Co., which is owned by my sister, Eddy, and her daughter, Mike.

Oregon Street Candle Co. started production in February 2006, after Eddy says God told her to make candles. Not being a religious person, but a believer, decided she better listen. She then went home and told her older daughter, who is in veterinary medicine, that she too was going to be making candles.

With increasing demand, they included another daughter, Niki. Then later involved yet another daughter, Skye.

Finding a need to wholesale and open their retail sales, I then came along.

I had quit the trucking business in June 2006 and decided to go into Internet marketing. When sister Eddy found out that I had a web site available she asked if I would join them in their journey. Therefore, the site www.oregonstreetcandleco.com and this blog is the results of this union.

We would like to hear from all you who like candles and especially scented candles. Tell us what scents you like and what medium ie wax, gel, soy, or vegetable wax you like best. We have all four mediums and over 130 fragrances.
